Yesterday we took the train to Amsterdam to hang out at Museumplein and visit the Van Gogh Museum. It was the the first trip to Amsterdam for Atticus and Milayla and they were both very well behaved.

After taking some photos outside we headed to the Van Gogh Museum for a visit. It was a first visit for all of us and it was incredible. Being able to see the original art work of Van Gogh and the work of a few others was a very special experience and we quickly realized that the pictures we had seen previously did not do any of the art justice - they were all stunning. Some of our favorites were: Peach Trees in Blossom, Wheat Field with a Reaper and Wheat Field with Crows, but there were plenty more that we loved looking at and learning about. Atticus seemed to be particularly excited about the life size depiction of 'The Bedroom'; he pointed out every item in the bedroom and was hesitant to move on to the next part of the museum.
No pictures allowed inside the museum for the preservation of the art, but here are a couple pictures of the building.
We enjoyed lunch in the cafe at the museum before we headed home in time for a late afternoon nap. We sure do love living in a place where we can see some incredible pieces of history so easily.
Love
