I know...I'm way behind. I'm hoping to finish all the Bremen photos in the next week or so and then I will get to all the Montreal photos - there are a lot!
August was a crazy month for us as everything ramped up for the move so we enjoyed the bits of downtime that we had at home as much as we could.
Since we weren't taking our bed with us (and awkward size in North America if we should ever like to buy new linens for it..) and it sold before we moved, Jason and I had the pleasure of sleeping on our pull out sofa for over 3 weeks. I don't recommend sleeping on a pull out sofa for more than a week - 2 weeks max. It loses it's comfort quickly. That said, the kids loved coming into the living room in the morning and crawling up into bed with us. Considering that the pull out sofa was bigger than our old bed, it was extra spacious for morning books.
Let's get a close up of that smile.
We had some great weather so we did our best to tie in some play dates at the park, homemade popsicles, homemade lemonade, and bicycle rides (before they got packed up) to really try to relax and enjoy our final weeks in Bremen.

As our things started getting packed up, the kids and I were getting a little more creative with how we played as it needed to be with smaller things that were either coming in our suitcases, or weren't coming with us at all. It's a good thing that the kids have taken a liking to lego - so easy to fit into the suitcase and it's been a big hit at our hotel and now in our furnished apartment while we wait for our things to arrive.
And Atticus has loved helping Milayla with her tracing exercises.
I think the biggest hit of my 'all the toys and rain gear are packed and it's raining outside' creativeness was breaking out the glow sticks. Non stop fun. Seriously. The kids were pretty proud of how neat the pictures looked and I even got to make it educational and help them learn about light and movement. Yay for teaching moments!
We had an anniversary/family birthday, which I will post more about later, but in the mean time here is the tasty dinner that Jason made for us while we waited for an opportunity to go out together. It was so good! I love it when he cooks. Because I don't let him take over the cooking very often, he really enjoys himself and sets apart a big chunk of time to make something that I typically wouldn't have the time to make so it is always a nice treat.
And we did our best to plan get togethers with some friends before we headed off. As much as I tried to bring my camera with me every time we met up with some friends I had a really hard time remembering to actually bring the camera out of the purse and take a picture! At least I did get some photos, though they were usually when we were at home and the camera was sitting on the desk for me not to forget... *sigh*
It was a very full month. September is proving to not be much different, which isn't so terrible, though I would like to feel like we have some normalcy and our feet on some solid ground. The house hunt and car hunt continues but Jason has accepted a job offer so we are one step closer to settling in. The adventure continues!
