After Atticus' birthday celebrations, we were right on to preparing for a trip from my parents. We were pretty excited as it was the FIRST visit we were getting from family since living in Canada. And the kids were over the moon excited about seeing grandma and grandpa and getting to play chess against Grandma. In fact, the very first thing they did was challenge grandma in Chess. We took it pretty easy the first day and then went to exploring most of the other days.
I have a lot of pictures, all mostly that my mom took while she was here. It was pretty nice not to have to worry about being the one to take all the pictures all the time. And, it turns out that my mom is like paparazzi with a crazy zoom on her camera that you don't even realize she is taking a picture of you because she is still a hundred feet away (at least!). So instead of narrowing down the pictures any further I am posting them in groups because I just have such a hard time narrowing down all the facial expressions of these awesome people.
This first lot is soccer, chess, playground, strawberry picking, chickens, horses, and the first dog that all three of my munchkins willingly played with. That's a HUGE step. We had plenty of fun with grandma and grandpa while they were here - Milayla even suggested that they should just live here for a while. We enjoyed dinner out which made it feel like a bit of a holiday for us as that tends to be the only time that we eat out. And Jason and I were able to go to the temple and enjoy a little date afternoon hanging out in trees (more on that later). We put my dad to work a bit as well to help us get some of the painting around here done which was a HUGE help. It was a happily nice visit. And the kids will have some great memories of the visit for sure. And there will be plenty of pictures to help them remember the visit!
