Making a Gingerbread House

I think the time might be at hand for me to try making a gingerbread house from scratch again. With Atticus and Milayla in full on helping mode, I'm sure they would be pretty big helpers. It's definitely easier to buy a box at the store though. The kids are asking about it as they know I've done it before. With a little bit more planning and spacing it out, I think we could pull it off next year - maybe.

In the mean time, here is this year. The kids had a blast. I cannot get over the santa hats. They found them in the basement pretty early on (before we had pulled out the christmas decorations) and they won't go anywhere without them. It's fun.

Everyone took turns helping, candies were eaten and some ended up on the house :). Atticus and Milayla decorated the cookies out front of the house and Phineas mostly watched and was pretty happy to get some colouring time with Milayla afterwards along with some snuggle time with Mommy and Daddy.

All this paired with some Muppet Christmas music (the most requested of the children) made for a pretty splendid time. I love this tradition. So fun with the kids. And I love all the facial expressions in these pictures - I just couldn't narrow them down any further!
